Ridge
Players is a community theatre group based in Ridgetown,
Ontario, Canada. For many years, we have staged a musical
theatre production, usually in late winter. In addition, in
the fall of most years, we prepare Christmas music to perform
at a community carol-singing event.
Ridge
Players is a not-for-profit volunteer organization. Any
profits resulting from our various shows go back into the
community. In the past, we have supported the Howard Mutual
Medical Centre, Chatham Kent Health Alliance MRI campaign,
area school libraries, the Chatham Kiwanis Music Festival, the
Mary Webb Centre, the Chatham Kent Hospice and many other
important causes.
Ridge
Players performed its first show in 1969, so the 2019
production represented 51 years of musical theatre for the
group.
After
having no show in 2020, 2021 and 2022, we staged a show in
2023. It was a retrospective of 51 years of performances -
called "Golden Memories". We put on a similar show,
called "Encore", in 2024.
In
the fall of 2024, we are once again preparing Christmas
music to perform at the Community Carolfest, which will be
held on Sunday, December 8 at 2:30 pm at Mt Zion
Presbyterian Church, Ridgetown.
